Step 1: Prepare your car for return
To ensure a smooth return process, please complete the following before arriving at your local Karmo hub:
Refuel the vehicle
The fuel level on return should be the same as the fuel level when you picked up the car. If you return a car with an empty fuel tank, you will be charged a Refuelling Fee, as documented here.Clean the vehicle
To avoid cleaning fees (see here), please wash and vacuum the vehicle and remove any rubbish.Remove personal belongings
If you are not swapping into a new car, make sure to remove your personal belongings from the vehicle. This includes your toll tag attached to the windscreen.
Step 2: Return to the hub
When you arrive at the hub, the team will walk you through the drop-off process. We will:
Conduct a thorough visual inspection
Our visual inspection includes damage, cleanliness, fuel levels and potential mechanical issues.Calculate your actual kilometres travelled
We will calculate whether your actual kilometres travelled falls within or exceeds your Total KM Allowance. If you paid an Excess KM Fee during your booking, you may be eligible for a refund of these charges. See our KM Allowance article for more information, here.Apply any necessary fees and charges
If the visual inspection highlighted any potential issues, you may be liable for additional fees and charges. They will be deducted from your Bond and Security Deposit first. If your Bond and Security Deposit does not cover the end-of-booking fees and charges, the outstanding balance will be processed against your nominated payment method. For a list of applicable fees and charges, view the list here.Finalise the subscription and credit the Bond and Security Deposit (if applicable)
You will be required to sign the Drop-off Inspection report, which acknowledges the condition of the car in which you returned it and any applicable fees and charges to be paid out from the Bond and Security Deposit or from additional payments. After all end-of-booking balances have been processed, any remaining credits will be transferred to your Customer Wallet which can then be used towards your next subscription.
Step 3: Subscription complete
Your subscription is now complete! Don’t forget to:
Remove your Toll Tag
Be sure to remove your toll tag from the vehicle when you’ve returned the vehicle.
